It’s been rumored, and denied, then rumored some more for ages now, but British newspapers have now gone on the record to confirm that Madonna and Guy Ritchie are about announce their divorce. Yes, one of the least likely pairings in showbiz, which saw Madonna pretend to like sipping bitter in a pub and develop a strange London/Michigan hybrid accent, and Guy pretend he didn’t mind having his career eclipsed by Madonna’s, has proved that it’s not going to last the course.
“It’s very sad. They were a great couple and brilliant parents. They just couldn’t live together any more,” a source told The Sun. “Despite huge attempts to patch things up they both knew deep down that divorce was on the cards. It wasn’t a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’. They tried hard over the last few months but their fighting was getting out of control.”
Madge was said to have wanted to keep the split on hold until after her Sticky and Sweet tour, but despite public shows of unity at Guy’s RocknRolla premiere, things have become untenable between them — including rows over Madonna’s plans to adopt another baby. Guy’s now set to fly back from France and collect his things from their Marylebone house and move into their Wiltshire mansion.
“He’s a really nice guy. I don’t think there are many blokes who can keep her happy. She’s famous for her reinvention, and it looks like Guy’s just another chapter in that reinvention,” Sun showbiz editor Gordon Smart told breakfast show GM:TV this morning.
It’s unclear at the moment what’s going to happen to their three children — Lourdes, Rocco and David Banda — but if we know Madonna at all (and we think we do. Like anyone cares. Madonna is past her time and should just go away for good. Her recent tyraid about Sara Palin proves that she is just nuts. Richie is so much better off without her. Good luck Guy and good ridians “madge”. Please do everyone a favor and go away for GOOD.

Madonna isn’t past her prime, I’ve been a fan since the 1980’s and I am proud to witness this POP ICON still making great DANCE MUSIC and SELLING OUT CONCERTS everywhere!
She has been inducted into the rock n’ roll hall of fame on her first go around being nominated, something most legends don’t experience, because their dead or in a drug induced state of mind.
Madonna’s latest record HARD CANDY, was released to RACE REVIEWS AND #1 in more than 37 countries!!!
So how can you even post something so uneducated about an artist you have no clue about.
She continues to please her fans, ppl who care and are interested in her very much still in 2008!
I am sadden to see that she’s going through this while on tour, because its a major distraction for her, but at the same time, this will strengthen him.
I do believe they had alot of HAPPY YEARS together, but they just didn’t seem to match up well together. She’s a party girl who loves the athletic, edgy, hip kind of guy (no pun), he’s more laid back and boring.
Madonna needs to take this time and finish up her tour, focus on her children and put all this chaos into her next album. GIVE US A “RAY OF LIGHT” Part 2!!!
No Hip Hop -althou I loved the sound of it from Hard Candy, but definitely bring on the guitar and story telling of a girl whose lost and wants to find the LIGHT!!!
She is an incredible DANCER, Wonderful Songwriter, Good Singer, and one of the most SUCCESSFUL ARTIST IN THE HISTORY OF MUSIC!!!
Besides PRINCE, she is the only one like herself and they’ll never be another MADONNA!
She relevant and she doesn’t have to try very hard to get your attention, as you stated, she’s past her prime, but guess WHAT Sharon…she MADONNA for a REASON and trust me…It will keep her on TOP for the rest of her LIFE!
