The NY Times posted two interviews yesterday on their YouTube site, one with current Broadway star Kat(i)e Holmes, and another with her husband, thespian Tom Cruise (they’re also both on the cover of the paper’s T Magazine). Scandalist sat through both, and we were shocked to discover that underneath the massive diamonds and rolled jeans is an oddly likeable, kinda insecure lady we’d like to take to lunch.
Katie dishes on her career, her nerves, awkward dates and the female camaraderie at her high school. Tommy, however, succeeds only in dating himself, rambling on about John Wayne, paper routes, and Soul Train. How could she not fall in love with him? Inside the mag, Katie addresses the haters who’ve deemed her to be helpless and trapped. “There’s a misperception about me that I just became this wallflower, this woman who doesn’t have any control of her life,” she asserts. “And that’s pretty wrong. From the very beginning, I’ve made choices in my life that have been very strong.”
If you say so!

I sure do miss the old Katie…… the one from the Dawson’s Creek days. She looks a lot better here though - not sick like usual, that’s good.
