If Ryan Seacrest had his wish, the highlight of E!’s red carpet footage would have been Miley Cyrus following ex-Nick Jonas and his brothers up to their elevated stage (she ignored the boys, but Billy Ray said hello—awkward!). Still, that scene couldn’t compare to the sight of Ryan Seacrest running down the stairs to interview Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, only to have the pair walk right past him. Ouch!
After his walk of shame back to E! Island, Seacrest claimed Brangelina were being “whisked away” from the carpet. His lie was revealed by a voyeuristic cameraperson who shot the pair talking Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush soon after. Double ouch.
So why wouldn’t they talk to him? Maybe they heard he bitched about her chilly Globes interview two years ago (”A lot of people are benefiting around the world from their doing of all of these noble things. But smile.”). Joel McHale might even suggest he didn’t make their eyeline. Seacrest provided his own spin on his radio show this morning.
There’s an NBC deal there. NBC hosted the Globes, and they have a deal to talk to the people who come to the Globes. Here’s what I realized when I went down there. I realized quickly that it’s against the rules to walk down onto the carpet from the platform.
Uh, yeah. Jolie and Pitt were ignoring him out of respect to NBC’s exclusive red carpet rights. Sure. Seacrest…out of excuses.

Seacrest is only about 5 foot 5, maybe Brangilina simply didn’t see the little guy and simply kept walking.
