Gene Simmons To Adam Lambert: “Shut Up”
Gene Simmons says Adam Lambert is “great and has a lot of talent,” but the Kiss bassist is clearly tired of talking about the American Idol runner-up. Plugging Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels on FOX Philadelphia, Simmons got annoyed when the newscaster asked how it felt to perform with Lambert on the show’s finale. “How it felt for him to perform with us, you mean?”
You just have to realize who the governor is and who the little puppy is. This kid’s great he’s a got a lot of talent. He doesn’t really have a rock’n'roll voice…he should be the singer in Queen or be on Broadway, but mostly he should shut up about his sexual preferences. Me, America and the rest of the world doesn’t really care. I mean if the story becomes “I prefer farm animals to…”, who cares? Be quiet about what you do indoors and go out there and sing.
Seeing as how Simmons has written a sex-filled autobiography, stars in a reality show and never hesitates to remind us how many women he’s screwed, it’s more than a little hypocritical for him to complain about Adam’s recent openness. Is he homophobic or just jealous?

Yeah, thats a homophobe in a nutshell. He sees no problem in talking about his own sexuality but doesn’t want to hear about the sex he doesn’t agree with. Its best to keep in mind, Kiss was a money making franchise that use rock and roll and marketing to haul in the bucks. Social revolutionaries they aren’t. Gene himself is very conservative; he’s been well spoken on his social outlook over the years.

Bottom line is.. .WHO CARE… if he’s gay… big deal… Just sing! AMERICAN is sooooooooooooooooooo hung up on anything sexual, Janet’s boob, Adam gay, Rush Limbaugh has sex with farm animals. Big Woop.
The shame is if asked “Are you gay” and you can’t answer… okay… but once asked…and the media runs with it…there is no need to talk about it anymore.
If AMERICAN would focus they hangups, bigotry, sexual self shame toward, improving children education, cure for cancer, accepting others etc…American would be on the right path. One can wish.

Wow. That newscaster should be fired. What an inane, stupid, and rude question to ask.
And yes, Gene Simmons has been open about his sex life, but you know what? People wanted to know, unlike with Adam Lambert. People wanted to know about the fabulous life of a rock star and his groupies.
Sorry, this whole “am I, or am I not?” ambiguous charade got tiring, very quickly. Who here was shocked when Adam Lambert came out? *crickets* Didn’t think so. It’s the gimmick of the whole thing, the obvious fame whoring-milk this for all I can that turns everyone off from Lambert.
He is using his sexuality as a money maker for his flash in the pan career. He should be ashamed.
He is no Gene Simmons, and will never amount to a fraction of what KISS was and still is.This time next year he will be like Clay Aiken and Reuben Studdard. Right. Who?

GENE IS COMPLETELY RIGHT! WHY SHOULD LAMPERTS SEXUALITY HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING? WHEN I GO TO WORK, I DONT TALK ABOUT MY SEXUALITY… AND I’M SORRY YOU GUYS, BUT “FAMILY JEWELS” IS VERY FUNNY! GENE WAS ALSO A PART OF ONE OF THE BIGGEST ROCK BANDS IN HISTORY, SO I THINK HE HAS THE RIGHT TO TALK.

I agree with Gene, My idols from the 70’s and 80’s didn’t run around shouting their sexual preferences out on stage or crap like that. While i will agree it’s time for Gene to stop the reality show, the bottom line is he’s right and everyone on this page KNOWS he’s right. What you do indoors should stay indoors. AMERICA DOESN’T CARE!!!!

First this coming from Gene, the guy who talks about sleeping with thousands of women, and then say no one cares about Adam Lambert being open and honest about his life? At least Adam doesn’t go in to detail talking about every guy he’s been with. He only talked about it on two interviews anyway and was just opening up and letting fans getting to know him better.
Second thing, it was the MEDIA that wouldn’t shut up about Adam’s sexuality and kept asking and asking, Adam never made a big deal about it, it was the media.
I ca see usual hypocrisy. If you are a straight and talk about your love life, you’re just talking. If you’re a gay and you talk about your love life, you need to shut up and stop shoving it down people’s throats. Some people honestly don’t get the double standard.

I just think that Adam is trying to clear up those unanswered questions about his sexuality. I believe everyone is really taken by his talent. Gene’s comment was a bit harsh. Gene talks about his sex life every moment he can. Which is fine. Adam just wants to be free to be ADAM - Just like Gene wants to be Gene. They are both great Artists - one has just been around longer & the puppy - you don’t have to be gay to LOVE LOVE LOVE him! Who careS what his sexual preference is! WE JUST NEED MORE ADAM!

Gene is probably not a homophobe, he just does not care to hear about anyone besides himself. Seeing him on various reality/interview shows has solidly proven that he is either a huge narcissist, or his “game” is to appear as such, but with the consistency he has shown for this type of behavior I lean towards the former. He’s a “shock” celeb pure & simple.

I cannot take this seriously, coming from a man who does not skip an opportunity to remind the whole world he slept with 4000 or 5000 women. I always wondered if Simmons is bisexual (because he obviously is addicted to sex) and is afraid of exposing that side of himself, but of course that is just guessing.
The governor and the little puppy? Please…I respect Kiss for their accomplishments, but they were always better known for being a marketing hype than for their musical abilities.
Mr Simmons is of course a very clever businessman, but his semi-artistic talking about music is just nonsense. The man who writes lyrics like ‘put your hand in my pocket and hold on to my rocket’ sometimes seems to forget he is not Bob Dylan or John Lennon.

I dont think its that he’s a homophobe but acted out becuz everyone just wanted to know how he felt to be working with Adam. I mean, the poor guy wants all the attention he can get and the only questions the reporter can ask is about the Gay Amaerican Idol runner up. But he was being a complete douche about his answer. And Adam is probably just as weary about the whole am i? or arent i? situation. He just wants to be himself already!
