Kourtney Kardashian was faced with a “Papa Don’t Preach” moment when she found out she was pregnant, and in the end she made up her mind to keep her baby. However, she explains in a lengthy interview with People that she seriously considered abortion and in the end, decided that wasn’t the right choice for her. Normally the Kardashians aren’t people we glean life lessons from, but we admire Kourtney’s honesty and the fact that she’s delving into territory that’s still taboo to talk about in the mainstream, especially by Hollywood celebrities.
Kardashian said that once she found out she was pregnant she, “definitely thought about it long and hard, about if I wanted to keep the baby or not, and I wasn’t thinking about adoption. I do think every woman should have the right to do what they want, but I don’t think it’s talked through enough. I can’t even tell you how many people just say, ‘Oh, get an abortion.’ Like it’s not a big deal.”
Ultimately, she realized that she had no reason not to keep the baby. “For me, all the reasons why I wouldn’t keep the baby were so selfish: It wasn’t like I was raped, it’s not like I’m 16. I’m 30 years old, I make my own money, I support myself, I can afford to have a baby. And I am with someone who I love, and have been with for a long time.”

I love Kourtney and the rest of the Kardashian sisters. They remind me so much of me and my sisters. I can total understand her thinking about it because it’s not like it was something planned. I Really liked that she she decided to keep her baby. I do believe in choice when things like this happens and I also believe God does not give you Nothing You can’t handle. I have now started to like her. Its a big decision that i was put in and i chose to keep my child. hard work but its a blessing. and alot of ppl do say “just get a abortion” and its a topic that many ppl dont talk about. im a firm believer in pro choice but at the same time its not cool to give up on ya responsibilities for selfish reasons. And im tired of ppl acting like they dont kno ppl who go thru this(or they dont go thru this) or preaching that she setting a bad example because she not married. This happens everyday and i think she is setting a fine example to show that its not the end of life.nobody is perfect.

Of course there is going to be a backlash when such a touchy subject as abortion comes up. However, I admire her for putting it out there for all to see. She made the right choice for the right reasons. It doesn’t matter how they became famous, that’s not what this is about. It’s about a child. People are so narrowminded and so perfect. It’s easy to sit in your chairs and criticize others. Be careful when it comes knocking on your door. Remember, NO ONE lives without sin.
