Does Miley Deserve Harsh Reviews For Divas?

I like Miley Cyrus she a good singer and they just need to realize that she is still blossoming into a wonderful young lady she’s just a teen

Eh people are always harsh on Miley always always. She doesn’t deserve to be hated so much she is a great young lady and talent. I myself love Miley and have been a fan of her ever since the first episode of Hannah Montana. She is a great singer, actress, and person. Oh and she is only 16. Sometimes I cannot believe some of the harsh things people say about her, she is only a teenager and everyone makes mistakes, even Miley. But Miles knows that she has a huge fan base and tons of Miley supporters! I think she sounded great and looked beautiful. Screw all the haters! <3 Miley!

honestly, i think she did horrible. i think she was trying too hard during both performances. i think she can kinda sing…well she can hold a tune..but other than that, i don’t think she’s all that great of an actress, and her clothing line is just like anything i can find at hot topic or wet seal. maybe in a few years, i can see her being an offical “Diva” but right now, her voice is still developing and i can see it getting better…maybe… but as of right now.. i just don’t see it happening.

I think the show should have been called ‘Future Divas’ or something like that. The fact that Miley and Aretha are now both ‘divas’ according to VH1 is insane.

Miley is too young to be a DIVA. Her music is fine…there’s nothing wrong with her music or her talent. However, VH1 DIVAS has always been these women that have been in the business for years and years and years. Riding on your fathers coattails until recently doesn’t count as being part of the industry for as many years as the original Divas (btw, I also didn’t agree with Joss Stone for the last DIVAS because was also far too young) A Diva has made some major impact in the industry, and Miley hasn’t yet. She has been surrounded by controversy instead.

So many posts can’t deal with the “Diva” thing. VH1 should have named it “Girls Who Sing.” Overall it was a wasted evening. The “comedy” was pathetic — except if you count Abdul trying to “dance” in high heels or Liza Minnelli trying to stand. All of the women had good pipes but their song choices were snoozers. Only one peformer was worth watching the disaster and that was Miley Cyrus. To criticize her voice is pointless — it is nasel and never going to be called awesome — but she is! At 16 she brings vitality to the stage and a maturity way beyound her years. Enough with the criticism about her as suggested in your “harsh” headline, it’s like saying “How dare she this and how dare she that?” Her voice is distinctive, her accent is charming and her talent is the only reason to re-watch this VH1 bomb.

She’s done way better. I just think asher performance on Diva’s it wasn’t very great. But she is fine. I also think as a Diva show, they were just trying to catch viewiers. I mean Diva’s of this day and age, Beyonce, Christina, Leona, CArrie Underwood … you know. Big singers. The old Diva shows used to be amazing with amazing singers ( Whitney, Mariah, Aretha). These girls are great and they could be there but I feel they didn’t have a Diva show with so many greats missing.. More like a show with name catchers and sellers… no classic Diva’s ….

Diva is someone with an amazing talent. The likes of which makes her ORIGINAL and someone who’s been able to hold her own for many years ! While some of the girls have not had #1 hits (neither has miley) the other girls who performed all have way more talent and their vocals are just amazing ! As far as miley goes her 15 minutes are ticking so she may wanna milk it for what it’s worth. So i guess we can allow VH1 to call her a diva after all from what i’ve seen from her attitude she plays the role well but is she able to back it up ? NOPE ! Call me a hater tell me i’m just jealous, i’m a performer myself and to see some chick like her get called a diva irks me…..Leona lewis is an amazing vocalist. Kelly clarkson amazing vocalist ! Adele just a timeless singer her vocals are absolutely refreshing and new ! Jordin Sparks another great talented artist who was able to win American Idol and really prove she earned it. Artists that could’ve replaced miley i have some suggestions……Janet Jackson. Reason: This woman has been around for soo long she was the only Jackson to ever get out of her brother’s shadow and prove that she is Ms. Janet not Michael’s little sister that and her dancing is off the chain ! Rihanna. Reason: She’s reinvented her image and each album the songs are fresh and different. Lady GaGa. Reason: She’s TOTALLY original. She has a Crazy sense of style but she has the vocals to back it up i’ve seen her perform and i’m always excited to see what she does next. Beyonce’. Do i need to say more ? The songs she’s written have gone to #1 time and time again and she’s a flawless performer always putting out a performance that is truly diva ! Taylor swift. Reason: Now taylor’s vocals are about where miley’s is only taylor is better but she’s a true talent and lady. Her songs are reflections of what it is to be a teenage girl and transecend from country to pop which shows that she is a true talent. Now when you think about it how is it miley deserves it over any of the other women i’ve mentioned?

Miley should never have been on the show. She is an OK bubble gum pop singer, but a Diva? She not only doesn’t have the vocal range, but her dancing antics & attire were more Britney waanabe then Diva. Her duet with Sheryl Crow was abysmal. In my oopinion the order of good to bad are: Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Jennifer Hudson, Adele, Jordin Sparks, & last & never should have been, Miley Cyrus. The three best duets were Kelly & Melissa, Leona & Cyndi, & Adele & India. Unfortunately for Jennifer Hudson, Steveie Wonder is past his prime & was terrible.

Well, Miley was SO out of her league….this showed how weak her voice is, I think, it may mature…then you listen to Jordin Sparks and they are only like 2 years difference I believe….AND, her duet with Sheryl Crow, at one part Miley pulled Sheryl off key….sad. I felt so bad for Sheryl.

Why do people care so much who’s a DIVA and who’s not and who should be a DIVA????? Do you really have nothing better to do with your time then to analyze each and every performer? Yeah she’s young and she might have performed horrible on the show maybe she was just nervous??? Have you ever thought of that? Her voice isn’t that bad really I’ve heard worse. Yeah I’m sure she’ll get better with time and so will Taylor Swift she doesn’t sound all that great live but she sounds awesome on CD. I’m not hating on either on of the performers ok I’m just saying yes they are young and they will get much better with time. People shouldn’t be so harsh on Miley and all the other performers. People really there’s more importent matters that we should be focusing on like the environment, politics and the mess this country is in hell this world we live in is a living disaster! Kid’s can’t even walk home from school a block away without getting kidnapped let alone play in front of their houses. So you know what who really cares about all this petty crap. If they want to call her a DIVA well let them. Age should not matter who friggin cares stop hatting and stop criticizing Miley and every other performer ya’ll think sucks or doesn’t diserve this or that.

Miley is a great singer, performer, and has a lot of catchy songs. However, I just don’t think she has “paid her dues” as much as the older singer has. Nothing against Miley, just give her a few more years and she’ll be great.

Miley completely over sang . Her voice over powered the song and Cheryl Crowe. She obviously has a place in pop culture, T’weens love her! I do not think she is anywhere close to the same league as the other soulful divas that she shared the stage with last night. Age has nothing to do with it. Take Jordin Sparks, she is a young gal herself but she has an incredible voice and mature presence that fit the show. I am not ripping on Miley’s talent, she is still very young and has alot of maturing to do as an artist. I dont think she was ready for the Diva status that was given to her.

She did wonderful for being her age. good for her. and so what if she screamed a bit, you could tell she was really into it. People probably hate her because shes so successful! yes shes been a little wild, but come on, a lot of teens have. shes just being herself and just because shes a star doesn’t mean shes not human. She may not be your average person but that doesn’t mean she won’t have the same feelings you and I do. and if people who make fun of her voice feel they could do a better job, then why are you not the one up there? and its better that she try too hard than not try at all.

I am sorry, VH1, you missed the boat this year. Miley Cyrus is NOT a Diva. A sixteen year old, spoiled, bubble gum, disney pop star whose father is already in the business does not merit an diva status whatsoever. Just because she sells millions of records to a pre-teen disney demographic does not mean she is a good singer, it just means she has a good publicist. What about Jill Scott? A true talent, underrated and a true diva. VHI, when and why did your standards become so low?

They all gave great performances. Cyndi Lauper was so supurb, the true great Diva who deserves more respect than she is given. The woman sounds as great vocally like she did in her prime. Lie fine wine she gets better with age. I wished she could have hosted the event. She was the main Divas in 2004 A true star.

Little girls love her. But, little girls see her as the fun Hanna Montana and that’s where she belongs. At 16 her place was not with the Divas. Divas are grown women with grown attitudes, personalities, as well as standout presence and sass. She’s not seasoned enough to hold that @^)$*@^%%%@*)#% le. The singing divas have voices that are so strong and powerful that even the hair on the back of a bold man’s neck would stand at attention. Vh1 have you ever heard of “baby divas”, “junior divas”, or “divas in waiting”? I don’t believe young Miley would have gotten such flack if you had put her on a VH1 Diva’s-In-Waiting show. She had no business trying to mimic the real divas that paid the cost to be the boss.

I think she looks outstanding however the DRess she wore looked a lil flat and showed that she really is 16 but also her voice did show a little wear but shes been doing everything and voice can do that sometimes.

i mean look at crows voice it was terrible and miley upstaged her. To be fair to mrs crow tho that wasnt a great song to do at all, soak up the sun or all i wanna do would been better. She’s fearless with her own distinctive voice, she doesn’t do those fake runs and/or trills style which widely used by R&B singers, she’s straight pop and she’s just being Miley. I don’t care about her outfit, all I can tell is, she has such great, long and beautiful pair of legs. Her fame has created such jealousy among young teens who think they can do better but too cowardly to prove their own talents, instead of going to Disney and build their dreams, they talk negatively about her as their careers. Embrace yourselves haters, that night,. Miley was the DIVA!!

No one is jealous people! Come on, Besides the slaughter on Crowe’s song…. she stuck out like a sore thumb and not in a good way. No one is saying anything MEAN about her…. VH1 should not have put her on as a “diva” she sounds and is marketed to young girls. No one is doubting her passion or showmenship- This show was not a proper gig for her. She was over shadowed by more mature singers, that’s it.

I gotta tell you…she is a legend in her own mind. And her performance was nothing less than average. With all the female performers out there, how the heck did they include Miley with this DIVA show??? Totally disappoints me that a better choice wasn’t made. I would rather have seen Pink or someone else out there. The best moment of the night was Kelly’s duet with Melissa…totally rocked!!!

Just to clear something up that some people are misunderstanding. Miley’s clothing line has zero to do with Disney. She is already “on her own” on that product line. Wal-Mart has 3,800 stores in the U.S. If she makes $1000 per store profit, that’s $3.8 Million dollars. If she makes $3,000 per store that’s $11.4 Million dollars. If she makes $10,000 per store, that’s $38 Million dollars. Instead of listening to the Miley haters, I think I’ll go to Wal-Mart and buy something. Peace and Love to all Miley fans.

P.S. And talking about being under thrall to Disney, Toni Braxton (who has a great voice, and everybody loves) was so in thrall to her record label that she felt she had to declare bankruptcy!!! I think Miley Cyrus’s performance was the best one of the
entire show. I’ve never really seen her perform before, but I was amazed and into the music. Granted; she’s young but she’s definitely a DIVA!! It would be great if she could be asked to take that song and performance to the SUPER BOWL. Oh Yeah; shout out to Paula Abdoul for having an incredible hosting performance.

miley was incredible and sang as good or better then the best of them! she should
be commended for how well she carried herself. i think none of the ladies got the
proper costuming from the show! whoever designed their outfits did a lousy job!
their clothing didn’t matter though, once they opended their mouths to sing, who

but on vh1 that is to be expected!

Its more about… If her show is still airing on disney and she continues to play Hanna Montana, she is going to have a huuuge following of little girls. And little girls don’t need to see this. It is greedy and selfish of Miley and her parents to influence children this way, just to make a buck. Then parents sit and wonder why their kids are having sex at such an early age and taking drugs. Miley is my hero. I noticed they had her batting cleanup for both the individual & duet performances. Because she is a huge audience draw. You can dismiss her fans as younger on average, buut whatever happened to the young person next to you is going to be your doctor, your accountant, or your president? And when that happens, her tours won’t bring in $50 million dollars, because that’s what her fans can afford, but more like $200 million or more. All this criticism is doing is making her fans more defensive and more loyal. Miley Rocks!!!

I watched Miley’s VH-1 performances over and over. Miley is a fun performer! Ten years from now, no one will even remember Demi Lovato, even though I like her, or “the backstabber”.
