EXCLUSIVE: November’s Playboy Playmate: Her Untold Story
Grace Kim is every guy’s dream girl - she is hot, smart, and loves to play Rock Band! But Playboy’s Miss November had a rigorous upbringing, having been raised by her religiously conservative father and mother. Grace sent a heartfelt letter to friends, who have been a huge support system for her an hour before she was going to her parents’ home to break the news, but when the time came, “…we were so busy it never came up,” she tells Scandalist. “My mom is dealing with the initial stages of breast cancer treatment and my sister-in-law is pregnant. I didn’t want to overwhelm them.”
This former Activision publicist and musical gamer realizes “they will find out eventually,” but in the meantime, Grace is having fun enjoying her newfound Hollywood life as a Playmate. Grace’s road to Playboy Playmate started when she was discovered by Hollywood celebrity photographer Peter Baratti. Peter shot a few sexy photos of Grace, and those few hours in the studio would eventually change her life.
Grace sent in one of the photos to be considered a guest a party at the Playboy Mansion’s Halloween 2006 soiree. Little did she know that Hugh Hefner and then-girlfriend Holly Madison saw Playmate potential in the picture. Soon Grace received a call from Holly — and in no time she was testing to be a Playmate! Although she graces the pages of the magazine this month, she doesn’t forsee modeling in her future. “It starts and ends with Playboy,” she tells Scandalist.
Grace is pursuing a career in writing, her main passion in life. She is working on a dating book and has blogged about everything from video games to the presidential election and hopes to parlay her Playmatedom into a possible guest columnist for the classy publication. Were your parents born in Korea? Sometimes it’s hard for Korean parents to accept that their children are fully integrated into American culture. Hopefully they’ll come around when they realize that posing in Playboy doesn’t make someone a bad person!
