Christina Aguilera has always been relatively closed-off when it comes to her personal life, but she is speaking up now about the abuse she and her family dealt with from her now-estranged father, Fausto. Aguilera opened up to E! for a TV special revealing that as a child she, “witnessed a lot of unpleasant things - a lot of pushing and shoving and fighting and quarreling. Growing up I did not feel safe. Feeling powerless is the worst feeling in the world. I turned to singing as an outlet. The pain at home is where my love for music came from.”

Christina, her mother and her sister were all abused physically until they moved in with Christina’s grandmother. Aguilera has chosen not to have contact with her dad, saying, “I let him back into my life briefly but I soon realized that he is not necessary in my life.” [Photo: GettyImages]

She may be a doting mother of one-and-a-half-year-old Max Liron, but when Christina Aguilera and hubby Jordan Bratman passed through Los Angeles International Airport yesterday, the songbird reminded us that she’s still nasty. Christina lifted up her blonde locks to show off her “Xtina” tattoo, as if to remind us that although she can nowadays more likely be seen carrying a diaper bag and baby bottle then wearing assless chaps, she is still a badass. It seems some celebs just can’t get enough of the poofy pout. Brittany Murphy, Heidi Montag, Jenna Jameson, and Lisa Rinna’s kissers have been pumped to capacity. Just yesterday, Lindsay Lohan went out on the town in NYC with a suspiciously bloated upper lip. Whether she and countless others have endured lip injections, implants, or claim to have just applied Lip Venom, many already-beautiful stars lust for that Jolie volume. The results are more often fishy than foxy. See what we mean below.

Christina Aguilera will play a small-town girl turned singing sensation in  Burlesque, a film set at a risque nightclub in Los Angeles. The role will be Aguilera’s movie debut, and the first real acting she’s done since The Mickey Mouse Club. Steve Antin, executive producer of Pussycat Dolls: Girlicious—and jilted jock Troy from The Goonies—will direct. Whether it’s Aguilera’s Cabaret or the next Showgirls, we should at least see some steamy musical numbers—from “Lady Marmalade” to Back to Basics, she’s had plenty of practice on stage.

We can’t imagine Christina Aguilera taking advice from anyone (she clearly doesn’t even check properly with the mirror when she leaves the house these days), so we’re surprised to learn that she has a new Mommy Mentor in Nicole Richie.

“I didn’t know much about Nicole, but because our little ones are born one day apart and through mutual friends, I’ve had the opportunity of getting to know her. And I was blown away with how great of a mum she is. I actually ask her for advice because she has a lot of great things that she does for her little one. She’s even a little more stricter with battery operated toys and what not, she’s a great woman,” she told Fox News.

Beyonce unleashes her alter ego Sasha Fierce upon the world today with her brand new album, I Am…Sasha Fierce. Two of America’s biggest divas (sorry Christina, but we still consider you an apprentice. One day!) Beyonce Knowles and Mariah Carey appeared on the UK’s most popular rival entertainment shows this weekend, Strictly Come Dancing and The X-Factor. Mariah made headlines for being off-pitch while singing “Hero” (see above), but who won the Diva-Off? Let’s find out.

Most Improbable Dress: After frightening wowing us with her cardboard robot look at the EMAs last week, Bey toned it down a bit for her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing wearing a modest black dress with stripe detail. Mariah returned to her tried and tested look on The X-Factor - “Drunk 18-year-old who thinks cheap lace up dresses are sexy,” but it’s still pretty conventional. However, this one goes to Beyonce for pulling it out the bag again later on at the World Music Awards and dressing like a pirate!

Amount of Attention Given On Show: Mariah takes this one easily. While Beyonce got to perform her latest song If I Were A Boy, while two dancers twirled around on the floor in front of her, Mariah got to “mentor” the X-Factor contestants, and have the whole show devoted to her songs. No contest on the “it’s all about me” front.

Biggest Hair: Beyonce did the very un-diva thing here and scraped hers back into a neat pony. Mariah let the curls take center stage. It’s 2-1 to Mimi!

Most Ridiculous Entourage and Demands: Mariah once again proves that she is an old hand at this. According to reports, she turned up six hours late, threw a strop about the size of her dressing room (well, this is England, FFS) and had “more staff than the Queen.”

A fairly conclusive win here for Miss Mariah, who trounces Beyonce 3-1. We’re impressed, Mimi, you make it all look so easy.
