Mariah Carey has publicly expressed her dislike of Jennifer Lopez, but is there another diva who rubs Mrs. Nick Cannon the wrong way? According to the New York Post, Mariah and Rihanna, “refused to talk or be photographed together at a Halloween bash” and “worked hard to upstage each other at Carey’s party at M2 Ultralounge.”

Riri, dressed as a tiger, reportedly stayed with her pals, including singer Ne-Yo, in a booth and wouldn’t cross the dance floor to pay her respects. Meanwhile, Mariah stayed in her VIP area with hubby Nick Cannon, and when she had to use the ladies room, security had to clear a path so no one would damage her giant angel wings. According to Mariah’s rep, however, the whole story is fabricated. “There were 1,000 people there and, of course, she needed security. She heard a rumor that Rihanna was there but she never saw her. Although they’re not expecting a little one any time soon, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are already getting ready to start a family.

“We had our first year and enjoyed it. This year for us is about establishing everything and creating a household. So, when we do welcome a child, it will be in a very comfortable, established home. So we are working on that once this year calms down, then we’ll probably start talking about it more seriously. That’s a priority, and it’s not just a quick decision,” Nick says.

“I want to be a father and that’s all about love,” he adds. “That’s the main thing to get right and at the end of the day it’s just about smothering my children with love.”

Although she had canceled her scheduled appearance at Nikki Beach following the Cannes premiere of her film, Precious, Mariah Carey decided to make a late and brief appearance to the afterparty for her film on Saturday night. After guests had finished dinner, which started at 9 pm, Mariah and hubby Nick Cannon waltzed in at about 11:30pm and gave a full fledged PDA fest for the partygoers.

“They were all over each other - just looked really in love,” a source tells The  FABlife.

Although the divalicious singer and her husband only stayed twenty minutes, partygoers didn’t consider it a diva move.

“She looked really tired from the premiere and doing press all day. Everyone was just pleased she showed up,” the source reveals.

It’s usually everyone else waiting on Mariah Carey, so who could possibly make the diva wait for over an hour, holed up in her hotel room until his arrival? Not hubby Nick Cannon, but director Lee Daniels, who reportedly kept the songstress waiting for a screening of her movie Precious at the Cannes Film Festival this weekend when he showed up an hour late.

Reports claim the singer/actress waited at her posh room at the Hotel Martinez until Lee arrived, which made her extremely late to walk the red carpet.

Mariah Carey is giving the recession the finger, with her interest in purchasing a $125 million mansion in Beverly Hills. The singer and her mooching hubby Nick Cannon have apparently made an offer on an estate known as Fleur de Lys, which is a 45,000 square-foot monstrosity of Italian marble, gold moldings, and limestone floors.

The home, which has been on the market for months, comes complete with 12 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a ballroom, two kitchens, a 50-person screening room, a nine car garage and a running track. In short, in makes her Tribeca lair look like a homeless shelter. As exciting as her appearance on The X Factor will be, fans of awkward physical interactions will be disappointed that Carey and husband Nick Cannon have replaced the clumsy hand-holding with a pose that allows her to show off her giant rock. Now if only they find a way to make him look less like a doormat.
