After a successful Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, it was time to hop over to Europe for Paris Fashion Week. We grabbed some fabulous dresses from Margi Kent and some amazing Tuleste Market jewelry and got styled by New York Girl Style for Venexiana and AZ Araujo and headed over to the City of Lights. From getting the dish on Rihanna’s love life, to seeing Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s blossoming romance, to getting moved to the front row at the Jean Paul Gaultier show, Paris Fashion Week was fantastic! Pint-sized billionaire twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen took their boyfriends, artist Nate Lowman and Justin Bartha on a little shopping double date in the City of Light on Tuesday, and despite their wealth and gigantic celebrity status, a source inside one of the stores they popped into tells TheFABlife that the pair were beyond polite and friendly. After smoking outside, Mary-Kate and Ashley walked into the boutique, smiling and joking. When asked if they wanted the store closed for them, the source tells TheFABlife, “They smiled and declined and said it was fine, they would just be a few minutes.”  After perusing the shelves, the source says, “They picked out a few items, spoke with the cashier about their trip in Paris, paid and thanked the staff.”

Pint-sized billionaires Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren’t just merchandising and entertainment moguls, they also make a mean cocktail, as TheFABlife tasted first hand at the Bergdorf Goodman Fashion’s Night Out party last night. The line was out the door on the seventh floor of the luxury New York City department store at 7 pm, when the twins were scheduled to appear. Although there were hundreds waiting to see what Mary-Kate and Ashley would mix up, only a few party-goers were let into the seventh floor bar, and luckily one of them was us!

Mary-Kate and Ashley, who channeled the 80s with tousled hair and dark lipstick and were dressed all in black, happily mixed up pink cosmos for the  crowd. Ashley was quite a friendly bartender, making us a tasty cocktail and then asking if it was OK. Although the drinks were delicious, we couldn’t stay long, as we had another celebrity pal to meet up with downtown. Cheers! [Photos: Stephen Mao]

Ashley Olsen was so excited about her new clothing line, The Row, that the twin mogul went right ahead and ripped her shirt off. Thankfully the moment was captured during a photo shoot for VMAN magazine, in which Ashley dishes on what attracts her to a man, what her twin sister has been up to, and why she thinks she shouldn’t be famous.

When does a man’s style attract you? “To touch a man who has a soft sweater on, a soft pant, a great jacket, or something that, as a woman, I want to take off him and put on and feel sexy in.”

On why she doesn’t understand her celebrity: “When I turned 18, I moved to NY, and I haven’t really done anything since to be a celebrity”

We’ve already exposed the Costume Gala’s worst-dressed celebs. But for every fashion misfire at this glamour fest, dozens of stunning outfits created by the world’s best designers adorned the stunning bodies of the world’s most famous people. This year’s theme was “The Model as Muse.” So it should come as no surprise that skin was on display in abundance. From open-backed gowns (Kate Moss, Ciara) to high hems (Gisele, Rachel Bilson) to semi-bare midriffs (Claudia Schiffer, Eva Longoria Parker), the gala was an orgy of flawless flesh. Check the pics.

Madonna has had a pretty rough week so far. Copies of the Stephen King book and movie It showed up on her door step after it was reported that her ex Guy Ritchie used to refer to her Madgesty as “it.” Oh - “it” gets better! Now she has been voted PETA’s Worst Dressed Celebrity of 2009, based on her penchant for wearing fur.  Thousands of voters logged on to PETA.org and chimed in to say who they think is the worst dressed celebrity, and Madonna takes the crown for 2009. Star Magazine, the Pillar of Celebrity Journalism, is claiming that Ashley Olsen is trying to persuade her twin sister Mary-Kate to get a boob job:

“Ashley is considering getting her boobs done because she wants to look more voluptuous. And she told Mary-Kate that she wanted her to get one at the same time so that it wouldn’t be glaringly obvious that Ashley had work done. That way, they could say that they had just both matured and were filling out naturally.”

Mary-Kate, according to Star, is “horrified” by the idea and “hates being told what to do and how to look by Ashley.” Judging from a new photo spread in Tank Magazine (pics below), we don’t think Mary-Kate needs to boost her breast size to look sexy. Maybe Mary-Kate holds the same opinion on plastic surgery as designer Diane Von Furstenberg, who the twins interviewed for their new book, Influence.

“So many woman have it now, and of course sometimes, you know, you question, and you think, ‘Oh, maybe I should,’ but then I look at some of the faces, and I just say I don’t need that,” said Von Furstenberg to  Harper’s Bazaar.

Feeling bad about yourself because your Friday night plans include the first season of Gossip Girl on DVD, an order of saag paneer, and that really nice bottle of Trader Joe’s wine that you’ve been saving? Well get ready for your ego to inflate - because your life is officially more interesting than the Olsen twins‘ Hollywood existence! Mary-Kate and Ashley sat down with Oprah Winfrey yesterday to promote their new book, Influence, and all we learned is that they rise early, live apart, and eat bagels and omelettes for breakfast. That’s it. Apparently Oprah thought that the twins were born in 2008, and skipped over all those juicy skeletons they keep crammed in their walk-in closets: Mary-Kate’s eating disorder, her involvement in Heath Ledger’s death, their many drunk Hollywood nights, and the beds full of $1000 bills that they sleep in at night. Okay, the last one was made up by yours truly, but it wouldn’t surprise us if it was true.
