Katie Holmes Shows Bra, Blames Suri At Elle Event

Katie Holmes showed no modesty at the Elle’s 16th Annual Women In Hollywood event last night, strutting across the red carpet in heels and a see-through black top. Don’t mistake this for a young mom’s wild night out, though—Katie says Suri’s the one that picked her outfit. “She gave me a big thumbs up,” Katie told Us. Aw, she must have learned that one from Dad! She’ll be grinning behind Wayfarers in no time.

Joining Holmes were actresses both established (Julianne Moore, Renee Zellweger) and aspiring (Kat Dennings, Shenae Grimes), along with a few men just happy to be in their presence. See why Alec Baldwin couldn’t stop smiling in the gallery below.

Katie Holmes has rebelled against her husband Tom Cruise and vast amounts of Scientology brain-training by enrolling their daughter Suri in a Catholic pre-school. According to a report, the super-stylish tot is not going to be committing the works of Xenu to heart just yet, as she’s attending Catholic Charities Yawkey Centre For Early Education And Learning in Boston.

“[Katie] is not convinced by Scientology and has told Tom that she wants Suri to be educated as a Catholic - as she was. They had been having huge problems agreeing on her school. To say they were having arguments is putting it mildly - but Tom came around to the idea in the end,” reports the Daily Mail.

While we’re pleasantly surprised to hear that Katie indeed has a foot, and she likes to put it down sometimes, a little bell is ringing in our head reminding us of Nicole Kidman. Boston may indifferent to the Tom Cruise invasion, but that’s just because they haven’t seen daughter Suri order ice cream. While Daddy makes his money on the Wichita set by leaping onto cars, Mommy Katie Holmes and Suri have been seeing the sights and shopping. Tom Cruise, taking a break from shooting Attack Of The Seat Hopper, spent the weekend enjoying Boston with his family, even going for autumnal jog on Sunday with wife Katie Holmes and son Connor. Everything seemed peaceful, but as we flipped through multiple photos of the trotting trio, we couldn’t help but wonder if they were actually evidence of a race: a race to look the tallest. Sadly, with every leap toward the cameras Tom took, Katie and Connor were right behind, shattering his illusions of paternal dominance. Enjoy these moments with Dad while you can, Connor—once you hit that late-puberty growth spurt, Tom will not let you stand that close to him again.

The only thing in Hollywood that confounds us more than the infinite Michael Jackson rumors are the infinite rumors about Tom Cruise, Scientology and anyone Tom Cruise has been associated with. Take, for instance, the latest rumors that Nicole Kidman, who has been divorced from Cruise for ten years, has all but abandoned the children they adopted together. Kidman, who married Keith Urban in 2006 and gave birth to daughter Sunday Rose just over a year ago, seems to have distanced herself from her other children. Connor, 14, and Isabella, 16, live with Cruise and Katie Holmes and appear to be estranged from their mother, to the point where they address her only as Nicole, not “mom”. In fact, Kidman has not been seen publicly with her children since May 2007. Surely it was inevitable: Britain’s most notorious fame-seeking lost little girl finding “refuge” in a celebrity-baiting, eerily-unsettling religion.  And yes, Peaches Geldof has apparently decided to cynically sign up to find her spiritual self in Scientology, because she developed a girl-crush on Katie Holmes when she spoke to her for Nylon magazine.

“Peaches was very impressed by Katie, she loved interviewing her and really wanted to become friends with her. She thought that taking up Scientology would be the perfect springboard to work her way into that New York clique,” reports the Evening Standard.

We applaud Peaches’ canny move, because you can’t really be a proper celebrity without a suitably controversial religion to pin your mast to, can you?  And David and Victoria Beckham have proved a little more resistant to the charms of Thetan-loving than first expected, so Peaches looks to be as good as they can get. Take this tidbit with a grain of rice: Suri Cruise apparently insists on only eating with chopsticks. Forget forks, sporks and her dainty little fingers - this celebrity kid eats her Lunchables like she’s downing sushi from Nobu.

According to an anonymous source, Suri “doesn’t like to eat with anything else.” During a recent visit to posh bakery Le Pain Quotidien, Tom Cruise’s spawn supposedly “wouldn’t touch her sandwich and pastries without them!”

Suri Cruise celebrated her third birthday Thursday afternoon with a princess-themed party at the home of her parents, Tom Crusie and Katie Holmes.

Friends and family ate a cake featuring Belle from Beauty and the Beast and participated in a treasure hunt.
