The amazing Slumdog Millionaire just can’t shrug off that Oscar glow. Fresh from the news that the adorable child stars are going to get their own houses in India is the incredibly exciting announcement that Dev Patel is going to appear in the ACTUAL television show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in the UK.  He’s reported to be in negotiations to play alongside director Danny Boyle to try and win a million quid for children’s street charity Railway Children.

“We were approached by Railway Children about doing the special — and we think it would be fantastic. Danny and Dev would play together, as with all our celebrity specials, but filming depends on their availability,” a production source tells The Sun.

Reports are also swirling that producers are planning a musical version of the hit movie — just like, er, Sister Act! — with profits to be ploughed back into the slums and kids’ charities. And Freida Pinto’s been signed up by Woody Allen to be in his next movie. And look - here’s a lovely photo of the kids at LAX, before they went back to India for a heroes’ welcome. Ahhhh. We love this story. Spanish senorita Penelope Cruz is at the London Film Festival, promoting her Woody Allen movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and has dazzled the crowds on the red carpet with her beauty and class. Squeezing her A-list self into her chauffeur-driven car, she heads off to the glamorous afterparty. Except she doesn’t, and accidentally wanders into D-List showbiz bash Celebrity Spectacle Wearer of the Year. We’re sure the organizers were chuffed when Pene turned up, especially as the calibre of star at the event were Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster and British swimmer Mark Foster.

“The Hollywood star was heard telling pals ‘I think we might have the wrong place,’” a source tells the Sun.

“The heart wants what it wants,” says Woody Allen, which is probably the only reason a middle-aged man could ever give for hooking up with his babymama’s adopted daughter. Mia Farrow thought everything was fine between her and her director boyfriend in 1992 when she accidentally stumbled upon a series of nude photographs of the 22-year-old Soon-Yi Previn, which Allen had accidentally left on his mantle. D’oh!

Despite Allen’s claims that there was nothing remotely incestuous about the relationship (He barely knew Soon-Yi was alive until her mom asked him to take her to a basketball game!), the media quickly leaped on the story, which broke during the filming of Husbands & Wives the same year. In the film, Allen is tempted to cheat on Farrow with a young college student. Perhaps the credits should have read, “Inspired by a true story.”

Since the public furor and a contentious child custody case ended, Allen has continued to knock out a movie a year without interruption, and has now been with Soon-Yi (who he married in 1997) for longer than he was originally with Farrow. Allen has credited their marital success to a “paternal feeling” on his part. Yeah, that’s not creepy at all.
