Since we can’t celebrate peace or prosperity while we’re at war and our economy is in the dumps, we’re ringing in the new year with the next best thing: celebrity bikini pics! Our gallery is ordered from one to 100, with one being the hottest. We tried sticking mostly to candid photos, but bent the rules a few times — especially for Miranda Kerr (her Victoria’s Secret shots are just too hot!).

Claire Danes is 30 years old and engaged - hard to believe the girl with the Kool-Aid red hair has become a glam, serious actress now. Personally, we’re still emotionally stunted and pining for Jordan Catalano. Danes spoke to Black Book Magazine recently and revealed a few tidbits about her life in the public eye and her long career. (Remember when she dated Ben Lee? That was lifetimes ago.)
She briefly touches on her relationship with Billy Crudup (which is probably her most famous gossip moment, because Crudup left a 7-months-pregnant Mary-Louise Parker for Danes), though now that she’s engaged to Hugh Dancy she doesn’t dwell on it. “My So-Called Life” fans will appreciate the fun fact that Danes is also real life BFF’s with Devon Odessa who played her ex-best friend Sharon on the show.
- On the role she played in the Crudup-Parker breakup: “That was a choice I made to fall in love. It’s unpleasant to be cast in such an unflattering role, but I just had to remain steadfast… As a public person you’re serving a certain function, and you’re a canvas for people to project their own hopes and fears onto, so you do have to perform a kind of mental trick and distance yourself from it.”
- On current beau, Hugh Dancy: “He’s such a cutie patootie. Sometimes I forget just how good-looking he is.”
- On growing up in New York in the 80’s: “We lived quite close to Canal Jeans, which was amazing. I remember the graffiti on the walls of neon tigers, and they had those amazing checkered buttons that you could get for free. I remember spending hours and hours and hours getting it just right and then going into Tower Records, praying that the shop girls would notice me and validate my ensemble.”
- On her tame bachelorette party: “We don’t get turned on by strippers in the same way that men do. Men are beasts like that—though we love you and your beastly ways. What a privilege to have your favorite women all together drinking. I’ll have to come up with some other ideas to get everyone together—I can’t just keep getting married.” [Photo: GettyImages]

The CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Awards were held at Lincoln Center last night, celebrating the most striking and successful designers in the industry. And where fashion’s biggest names go, actresses and models are guaranteed to follow. After the disaster that was the He’s Just Not That Into You premiere, we were giddy to see that the fahsion picks at the Confessions Of A Shopaholic premiere were infinitely better.
