Since we can’t celebrate peace or prosperity while we’re at war and our economy is in the dumps, we’re ringing in the new year with the next best thing: celebrity bikini pics! Our gallery is ordered from one to 100, with one being the hottest. We tried sticking mostly to candid photos, but bent the rules a few times — especially for Miranda Kerr (her Victoria’s Secret shots are just too hot!).

We have no idea who this model is posing for Victoria’s Secret in St. Barths, but we think she has a shot at becoming America’s Next Top Underwear Model. Marisa Miller, the Sports Illustrated cover girl who topped Maxim’s last Hot 100 list, holds that fictitious title for now.

But this new girl, like Marisa, is perfectly toned and tanned and has the legs of a giraffe (a good thing in modeling!). Also like Marisa, she looks sexy whether she’s giggling, running through the water, or staring at the sky as if she were about to make love to the sun.

Victoria’s Secret unloaded an army of models from a yacht and invaded the beach with a photo shoot in advance of its fashion show on Saturday. The show, which also served as a celebration of the reopening of the Fontainebleau resort (once a playground for the Rat Pack), featured an Usher performance, angel wings, plenty of panties and a $5 million dollar bra made of black diamonds and rubies. It’s been a buzzworthy year for Victoria’s Secret models — and it’s not just mega-celebrity Heidi Klum that’s capturing all of the attention. Marissa Miller topped Maxim’s Hot 100 List. Miranda Kerr made headlines last week with rumors that she’s engaged to Orlando Bloom. Alessandra Ambrosio stumped the bra and panty modeling world by returning to the runway a mere three months after giving birth. Brazilian papers claimed that Karolina Kurkova has been doing fashion shows with “cellulite on her butt.” Whatever. And Adriana Lima made an appearance on Ugly Betty. Bring her back, please. Victoria’s Secret has chosen Marissa Miller as its newest Angel. Marissa, 30, joins the long line of famous Angels including Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks. Miller tells People, “It’s like a dream come true. I’m so excited. It’s so cool too because my sisters and my mom and I are longtime customers, so to be an Angel is pretty surreal.”

Marissa, who is 5′8″ and 110 pounds claims she doesn’t see herself as “Marissa Miller the model.” But she states on her website: “It would be stupid to let it go to my head. It’s modeling — I didn’t find the cure for cancer, you know?”

Other than surfing, Marissa also states that before her busy days as a model, “There were days when I would make a pie from scratch just for fun.” But, sorry guys, this domestic diva is taken. She has been married to producer Griffin Guess since 2006. [Photo: WireImage; Source: People.com]
