Blake Lively looked like a wedding cake with cleavage at a screening for The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee last night in NYC. Just the kind of relaxing ensemble you want to wear while watching yourself lie naked with Alan Arkin onscreen. “Well, I think it’s uncomfortable, laying in strategically placed clothes that are taped on your body, in front of some strangers,” said Lively about her intimate scenes with the 75-year-old Oscar winner. “We’re all actors, we’re all professionals and we all understood what was happening. Everybody is uncomfortable with those scenes. You’re never going to be comfortable being half-naked in front of anyone. But, it was fine. It was a short scene.”
Sadly, Arkin wasn’t around to share more camera time last night, though co-stars Robin Wright and Keanu Reeves did attend, as well as well-wishers Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard and Daniel Day-Lewis, whose wife Rebecca Miller directed the film. Check out their styles in the gallery below.

While Penelope Cruz looked as gorgeous as ever at the New Yorm Film Festival screening of Broken Embraces, her latest collaboration with director Pedro Almodovar, we do wish she’d taken her jacket off before stepping onto the red carpet. Not to mention that avant-garde hoodie she’s got on under it. Then again, judging from the frayed hem dragging across the floor, maybe the low-cut dress she’s got on underneath needs all the coverage it can get. Woof.
Take a closer look at Cruz’s fashion victimization in the gallery below.

In an interview with the Associated Press recently, Gwyneth Paltrow not only spoke fluent Spanish for the entire thing, but she gushed about how amazing she, uh, we mean Spain, is. Not the first time Gwynnie has gushed about an adopted home, a few years ago she compared America to the UK and said, “The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans.”
When asked about her love for Spain, Paltrow said: “It is so different from the United States. It seemed to have a history, and the buildings are years and years and years old. Here in the United States an old building is about 17 (years old), and over there it’s from 500 B.C., it’s incredible.” We think that’s great and technically we agree Spain is a beautiful, historic place, it’s just that, when Gwyneth says it, doesn’t it just sound kind of condescending? Here are a few more things that made our stomachs turn.
1. Gwyneth launched a Spanish-language version of her website, GOOP.com.
2. Gwyneth speaks to her children in Spanish at home (big whoop, we learned how to count to 20 in Spanish from Sesame Street).
3. Gwyneth would love to take an acting role in Spanish. Hey, if Penelope Cruz can keep getting work in English, anything es posible.
4. Gwyneth is writing a cookbook on Spanish-influenced cuisine.
Oh, por favor. We used to think Paltrow was cool but lately it’s all gotten to be too much. Makes us want to have at our old Rosetta Stone tapes so we can say with proper inflection, “Hey lady, don’t forget about Shallow Hal! That was you in that fat suit.” [Photo: WireImage]

Some celebrities roll out of bed looking flawless. We’re looking at you, Jessica Alba and Beyonce. Other Hollywood glamazons, like Heidi Montag and Katherine Heigl, need the aid of some concealer, mascara, and lipstick to push them to camera-ready status. And for those stars who aren’t naturally radiant, the paparazzi show no mercy. They’ll relentlessly snap photos of celebs exiting a gym, finishing a triathlon, or disembarking from a transcontinental flight. These unflattering shots end up all over the gossip rags, making us commoners feel better about the bags under our eyes and less-than-perfect skin. Take a gander at Hollywood’s hottest ladies in the buff. Cosmetically speaking.

We had our suspicions: When you’re marrying a billionaire, would you really be satisfied with a quick service in City Hall? Nah. And Salma Hayek’s proved that her official wedding ceremony to super-super-super-rich Francois-Henri Pinault in February was only a taster for the real deal.
Celebrities like Bono, Charlize Theron, Penelope Cruz, Stella McCartney and Ashley Judd all descended on Venice this past weekend for an elegantly glamorous celebration. The couple and guests donned masks for a ball on Friday night and renewed their vows at the river city’s La Fenice opera house the next day. She may have claimed she wasn’t going to spend the cash on a “ridiculous” wedding ceremony only a few days ago, but after looking at the photos from these super-exclusive nuptials, we think Mrs Pinault may have been feeding the media a bit of a line. Cheeky! But congratulations (again). [Photo: Splash News Online]

You’d think that the kajillion award ceremonies preceding the Oscars would make it easy to predict who will win, but there have been countless times when the Academy went against the tide. Remember when Crash beat Brokeback Mountain? Or Shakespeare In Love beating Saving Private Ryan? The Oscars are pretty unpredictable compared to the Grammys, but here’s who we think will take home a golden boy on February 22nd.
